We are going to get a little batty!

We are going to get a little batty!

With the weather starting to cool off and Halloween/Thanksgiving season upon us the bats are out and about leaving their summer roosts. They are moving into the tunnels, mine shafts, and caves for hibernation. Pennsylvania's most common bat, the little brown bat is found locally in Wilkes-Barre and also statewide.

It is rare that a bat will pose a risk to you but they can still be a nuisance. So if a bat decided to roost in your home, call us at (570) 599-5772 or feel free to message us and we will remove your winged friend in a safe and humane way.

Contrary to popular belief, bats are not blind! Most species actually have amazing eyesight that helps them hunt prey at night

Bats squeaks can be so high pitched, they are inaudible to the human ear.

Like birds, some bats will fly south for the winter until a steady supply of insects is available again in the spring, however some (like the Cave Bat) will hibernate through the winter.

A bats biggest worry isn’t a natural predator or your amazing pest technicians at Bugs Bee Gone, but actually a relatively new disease called white nose syndrome with a mortality rate of 99% and often infect bats that hibernate.

Bats are also not as dirty as you’d think. They constantly groom themselves to keep them clean so they can fly effectively.
